Hardwood & Tile Flooring Installation in Maui
Maui Prestige Flooring is a licensed and insured flooring contractor based in Wailuku, installing and repairing floors for homeowners, condo owners, property managers and businesses across the island. Over more than 16 years we have completed 1,700+ flooring jobs on Maui.
We install hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, laminate, tile, carpet, epoxy and polished concrete, and we repair the problems island floors are known for: lifted planks, hollow tile, water damage and soft subfloors. Every floor is planned around what Maui throws at it, from damp slabs and salt air to beach sand at the door.
Call us seven days a week, well into the evening. We measure, send a written quote and back every installation with a 1-year labor warranty.

Flooring Installation and Repair Across Maui
We handle the whole job, from pulling up the old floor to fitting the last transition strip. Our flooring installation services on Maui cover nearly every floor type sold on the island, so you can compare materials with one contractor instead of three.
Hardwood, Engineered Wood, Bamboo and Cork
Solid and engineered hardwood in straight lay, herringbone and parquet, plus bamboo and cork for warmer, softer rooms. Worn wood can often be saved with hardwood floor sanding and refinishing.
Vinyl Plank, Laminate and Resilient Floors
Waterproof SPC and WPC vinyl plank is the floor we install most often in Maui slab homes and rentals. We also lay laminate flooring for drier rooms, plus sheet vinyl, VCT and rubber.
Tile, Natural Stone and Terrazzo
Ceramic and porcelain tile, travertine, marble and slate, set over uncoupling membranes such as Schluter DITRA where a slab is prone to cracking. Terrazzo suits lobbies and homes that want one seamless, polished surface.
Polished Concrete, Epoxy and Concrete Floors
Flake and solid-color epoxy for garages, workshops and commercial kitchens, and polished concrete floors ground and densified for homes and retail spaces. Both turn the slab itself into the finished floor.
Carpet and Carpet Tile
Wall-to-wall carpet over slab-rated pad for bedrooms and upstairs condos, and carpet tile for offices where a single square can be swapped. Near the ocean, salt air can rust standard tack strip, so we plan the install around it.
Floor and Subfloor Repair
Lifted vinyl, cracked or hollow tile, squeaky or soft wood subfloors and water-damaged boards. Many floors can be fixed plank by plank or tile by tile, which costs far less than replacing the whole room.
Commercial, Resort and Vacation Rental Flooring
Offices, shops, restaurants, schools and rental units, with installs planned around guest turnovers and opening hours. For buildings run by an AOAO, our condo flooring service covers board approval and sound ratings.
Not sure which floor fits your home?
We bring samples to the measure and explain how each option will hold up in your rooms, on your slab.
16+ Years and 1,700+ Floors on Maui
Flooring experience on Maui is not the same as experience on the mainland. More than 1,700 jobs here have shown us exactly how floors fail in this climate, and what it takes to stop it from happening in your home.
Licensed and Insured on Every Job
We are a licensed Hawaii contractor with liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage for our crews. Ask for our license number and certificate of insurance with your quote, and check any contractor on the state’s DCCA public license search before you sign.
A 1-Year Labor Warranty in Writing
Our installation work is covered for a full year: seams that open, planks or tiles that lift and trim that comes loose because of how it was installed. That sits alongside the manufacturer’s product warranty, and your quote spells out both.
Open 7 Days, Into the Evening
We answer Monday to Saturday from 7am to 9pm and Sunday from 9am to 9pm. That makes it easy to book a measure after work or on a weekend, and gives property managers someone to call when a turnover is tight.
Floors Built for Maui Slabs, Humidity and Salt Air
Most Maui floor failures start below the surface. Coastal humidity runs around 70 to 80 percent, and most homes and condos sit on concrete slabs, many of them poured without a vapor retarder to stop ground moisture.
That is why we test every slab for moisture and check it for flatness before any floor goes down. Skipping those two steps is behind most of the cupped, gapping and loose floors we are called out to fix.
Upcountry and North Shore homes bring a different set of challenges: wood-framed raised foundations, damp crawlspaces and termites. We check for all three before quoting a wood floor.

Humid air, about 70 to 80 percent RH at the coast
Damp air cups and gaps solid wood and swells laminate seams. We plan with engineered wood, proper acclimation and waterproof vinyl in wet rooms.
Slabs without a vapor retarder
Ground moisture breaks down adhesives and molds carpet pad. We take moisture readings and add a vapor barrier when they call for one.
Salt air near the ocean
Salt corrodes metal trim, fasteners and tack strip. Coastal jobs get corrosion-resistant trim and fasteners.
Strong UV through lanai sliders
Sun fades wood and vinyl and heats floating floors. We use UV-stable finishes, wider expansion gaps and glue-down near big glass.
Formosan and drywood termites
Termites eat into wood floors and subfloors. We check for activity before any wood install.
Sand, red dirt and volcanic grit
Grit scratches thin wear layers and finishes. We specify 20 mil or thicker wear layers and walk-off mats.
Vacation rental turnover
Rolling luggage, constant cleaning and commercial warranty terms all wear on rental floors. We confirm commercial-rated products before ordering.
If you are torn between two materials, we will tell you plainly which one suits your room and your building. Waterproof luxury vinyl plank is often the answer for a beach rental, while a Kula living room may be better served by hardwood flooring.
How a Maui Flooring Project Runs, Start to Finish
Most projects take anywhere from about a week to two months from first call to finished floor. The biggest variable is whether your material is already on the island or has to ship from the mainland.

FAQ
Common Questions Before You Book
Do you work outside Wailuku and Kahului?
Yes. Wailuku is our base, but we install and repair floors across the whole island, including Kihei, Wailea, Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kapalua, Kula, Makawao, Paia and Haiku. Jobs on Lanai and Molokai are planned in blocks, with material shipped over by barge.
How soon can you come out to measure?
Timing depends on the season and where you are on the island, and Central Maui measures are usually the easiest to fit in. Because our phones are answered Monday to Saturday from 7am to 9pm and Sunday from 9am to 9pm, you can usually lock in a measure date on your first call.
If your material is special order, book early: shipped flooring often takes 4 to 6 weeks to reach Maui.
Do you handle both residential and commercial jobs?
Yes. We work in single-family homes, condos and vacation rentals, as well as offices, shops, restaurants and other businesses. Our commercial flooring services cover larger and multi-unit projects, and our condo flooring service handles AOAO approval and sound-rated underlayment.
